A perfect week is fragile. A strong month is resilient.

Many people judge consistency seven days at a time. One missed workout makes the week feel ruined, and the ruined week becomes permission to stop trying.

Use a wider scoreboard. Set a monthly floor for the behavior that matters:

  • Eight strength sessions.
  • Twenty days with a purposeful walk.
  • Twenty-five days hitting your protein target.
  • Four weekly planning reviews.

Then mark each completed action on a visible calendar. The monthly view gives you room to recover from travel, deadlines, illness, and family demands without pretending the goal no longer matters.

This is not permission to procrastinate until the final week. Review the score every Sunday. If you are behind, schedule the next action—not an unrealistic punishment plan.

Consistency is not a perfect streak. It is a pattern that survives imperfect weeks.

Choose one behavior, set its monthly floor, and start marking the calendar today. Download a ready-made tracker from the Lean by Habit program materials.
