Decide dinner before hunger makes the decision for you.

Late in the day, the problem is often not a lack of nutrition knowledge. It is a tired brain facing too many choices while hungry. Remove that negotiation with a four-o’clock dinner decision.

Make the decision simple

By 4:00 PM, choose one item from each group:

  • Protein: chicken, fish, lean meat, eggs, Greek yogurt, tofu, or beans.
  • Produce: a vegetable, salad, fruit, or a mix.
  • Energy: potatoes, rice, whole grains, or another portion that fits your activity and goals.

Then decide the first physical action: thaw the protein, set out the pan, start the rice, or place the order. A plan becomes much stronger when it has a visible next step.

Keep one emergency version available for chaotic evenings—for example, rotisserie chicken, a bagged salad, and microwaveable rice. The goal is not a perfect dinner. It is a reliable default that beats improvising when you are exhausted.

Set a 4:00 PM reminder today and make tomorrow’s dinner decision early. Find more practical habit tools at LeanByHabit.com/program-pdf.
