No gym does not have to mean no training.
When your schedule collapses, look for the simplest tool already built into the environment: a staircase.
Use the Ten-Flight Reset:
- Walk one flight at a steady, controlled pace.
- Continue until you accumulate ten flights.
- Use the descent or a hallway walk as recovery.
- If ten continuous flights are too much, collect them in smaller sets during the day.
The objective is not exhaustion. It is to raise your breathing, challenge your legs, and keep movement in the day when a full workout is unavailable.
At an office, use two flights before a meeting. At a hotel, climb while your room settles. At home, repeat one flight several times. Wear stable shoes, use the handrail when needed, and stop if the movement feels unsafe.
A reduced session still protects the identity of someone who trains. The minimum effective dose is not the final goal. It is the bridge that keeps you moving toward it.
